THE heads of Australia's major sport codes will meet Prime Minister Kevin Rudd in Melbourne this week to discuss their role in curbing binge drinking at sports clubs as well as their heavy reliance on alcohol sponsorship.
Mr Rudd, Health Minister Nicola Roxon and Sports Minister Kate Ellis will meet chiefs of the AFL, NRL, ARU, FFA, Netball Australia and Cricket Australia on Friday. Fosters is a senior sponsorship partner of the AFL, with Bundy Rum and VB major sponsors of the NRL. -- LEO SHANAHAN and DAVID ROOD
