ILLAWARRA Sports High School are hoping for strong home support when they play Endeavour Sports High in the Arrive Alive Cup at WIN Stadium today.
After their thrilling golden-point win against St Gregory's at Brookvale Oval two weeks ago the Berkeley-based school will be high on confidence.Illawarra trailed by six against St Greg's with two minutes remaining, but levelled with a try to Luke Raduva and a pressure conversion by half Beau Henry.Shellharbour Marlins star Orry Weir then capped the win with a golden-point try after a sweeping backline move.St Greg's students turned out in force in atrocious conditions for the game and Illawarra Sports High sports co-ordinator Darren Nunn wants to match their enthusiasm today at WIN Stadium."After standing on the hill at Brookvale on Friday listening to 300 St Greg's students chanting in the rain, it was unbelievable the difference that it made to their team's performance," Nunn said. "It all but got them over the line. We had 50 supporters up there. "This week I want 500." Kick-off is 4.05pm today at WIN Stadium. - MICHAEL COX
